Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Temperature Sensor
The Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Temperature Sensor are integrated as a single unit on the Z31 300ZX. These components help the ECU control both fuel flow and fuel pressure.
The fuel pressure regulator uses a diaphragm to adjust fuel pressure based on vacuum applied to one side, restricting the fuel return line as needed.
The fuel temperature sensor is built into the regulator and monitors the temperature of the fuel. When the fuel temperature rises above the specified level, the ECCS control unit increases fuel injection to help cool the fuel in the rails and prevent vapor lock. Early Z31 models also featured a fuel injector cooling fan for this purpose.
